CL43 Compact Locator is an affordable and easy-to-use wire and cable and duct sonde locator.
Outdoors CL43 can be used to trace and pinpoint underground cables and sondes in several meters depth.
Indoors CL43 can be used to locate for example floor heating cables and wires inside walls.

CL43 has a simple user interface with only two buttons, 13 LED lights and a speaker. Probes are easy to
disconnect therefore it easy to carry the receiver and a probe even in a pocket. CL43-PB kit does not include
a transmitter, however, it is compatible with all Vesala 512Hz sondes PL18-05 and PL42-05. 512Hz is intended
especially for tracing metal ducts, such as cast iron.

Other Vesala duct sondes operate at 10kHz and 33kHz (See Duct Sondes on Accesories page) and the compatible CL43
product setup is CL43-PA.

Additional probes for CL43 can be acquired also later. If you would need a setup to trace cables and wires

Working with MPL9-33

MPL9-33 turns on and starts sending tracing signal when a battery is inserted and the battery compartment is
turned to the middle part. The sonde is attached to the tip of a push rod (snake) by its M6 female thread,
located at the end of the battery compartment. Alternatively the sonde can be taped to the side of the push
rod to reduce risk of damage.

After that the sonde is pushed into the duct. If there is a blockage in the duct, its location can be roughly
estimated using the length of the rod and cable & duct maps. After that the exact location of MPL9-33 is
traced in the area above ground with a cable tracer receiver. Knowing the exact spot of a blockage considerably
saves time and reduces unnecessary digging costs.

There is a blinking red light at the tip of the transmitter indicating transmitter operation. The disposable
Lithium battery unit gives energy for approx. 6 hours total usage.

MPL9-33 diameter is 9.0mm and length with mounted battery compartment 137mm.

Vesala’s PK2 Drill Point Locator set solves the repeated problem how to drill holes through walls,
floors etc. safely and accurately. With PK2 time consuming measuring or using trial & error
drilling to find the right drill location can be avoided. PK2 includes transmitter PKT2 and receiver
PKR2.

Corresponding location on the other side is located with the receiver. The arrow LED indicators of
PKR2 show and distance display reading gets smaller. Green rectangular LEDs appear when the right
spot has been reached. Right spot can be pinpointed accurately up to 150cm distance.

Before drilling it is often good to know whether there are hidden obstacles in the way. PKT2
transmitter has an automatic metal detector feature, which warns if there is metal under it. AC
detector displays if there is alternating voltage present, hinting about possible live mains
wiring underneath.

How to calibrate micro ducts with MPL4-33

Before jetting, a suitable size shock absorber is attached to the sonde. It will protect the
sonde if it hits an obstacle. After inserting a battery sonde is jetted into the duct. If
sonde gets through the duct, duct is successfully calibrated. If sonde stops in the duct, it
is located above ground using a cable tracer receiver. Knowing the exact spot of a blockage
considerably saves time and reduces unnecessary digging costs.

MPL4-33 technical features

MPL4-33 turns on and starts sending tracing signal when a battery is inserted and the battery
cap is attached. Typical tracing distance using CL43 receiver is 2.3 m. Replaceable lithium
battery enables approx. 9 hours total usage time depending on ambient temperature. MPL4-33
diameter is 4.6 mm and length with battery cap 94 mm. Mounting thread for shock absorbers is
M3.5 female. A shock absorber with 4.8 mm calibrator suitable for 6 mm ducts is included. 6.4
mm head for 8 mm ducts is also availabe.

Cable tracer TM30 is a cable & wire tracer equipped with monitoring and measuring properties.
It can be used also at mains environment, so it is well suitable for both telecom and electric
installation work as well as renovation and fault spotting work and much more.
With TM30 it is also possible to trace short length wires or single wires, which are usually hard to find.

Transmitter TMT30
TMT30 has three very easy to use operating modes:

• In the Trace mode device transmits a signal to be traced with the receiver. TMT30 withstands
  voltages up to 400V, so it can be well plugged into e.g. a mains wall socket. Device also displays the
  voltage at the outputs and the feeding signal current to the target.
• In the Meter mode, TMT30 operates as a voltage and frequency meter.
• With a special DSLAM test TMT30 can be used to check whether a CO side ADSL modem is present

Receiver TMR30
TMR30 is very versatile:
